The West Mill is always one of my favourite Derbyshire wedding venues and when the sun’s shining, it’s even better. Luckily for Ciara & Ged, May brought the goods with another glorious day of blue skies and just the right amount of spring warmth.
From the moment I arrived, you could tell this was going to be a chilled, joy-filled wedding. No stress, no fuss. Just two people in love, surrounded by their favourite people, making the most of a beautiful day.
The ceremony had all the emotion (and a few giggles thanks to Ged’s nerves), but the real highlight? That speech. Or should I say, those speeches. Ged’s two brothers - joint best men - absolutely smashed it with one of the funniest, most heartfelt speeches I’ve heard. The perfect balance of roasting their brother and showing how proud they were of him.
As the sun set over the river, the dance floor properly kicked off - one of those nights where no one wanted to sit down, and the tunes just kept getting better. Safe to say, some of the moves will go down in West Mill history…
