Jess and Sam’s wedding at The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club was nothing short of incredible – a day overflowing with smiles, laughter, and more than a few happy tears. The venue itself is breathtaking, with sweeping views across the golf course and endless photo opportunities. From the moment I arrived, I knew it was going to be one of those special days where everything just clicks into place.
The Ceremony
Jess looked amazing in her dress, and her bridesmaids in shades of green created one of my all-time favourite colour palettes – elegant, timeless, and perfectly suited to the setting. Sam and his best man looked sharp in black tie, bringing a real sense of style to the day.
Their ceremony was deeply personal, with Jess and Sam exchanging their own handwritten vows. It was a beautiful, emotional moment that had everyone smiling through happy tears. Instead of the traditional confetti, the couple walked down a bubble aisle – a unique touch that looked magical in photos. If you’re considering an alternative to confetti, bubbles are definitely worth thinking about.
Drinks Reception & Couple Portraits
The weather gave us a little sprinkle of rain (which is always said to be lucky on a wedding day!), but it didn’t dampen the mood. Guests enjoyed delicious canapés, and we still managed to capture some gorgeous family and bridal party shots outside.
Then came one of the highlights – we were whisked away on a golf buggy to explore the grounds. Few venues offer something quite as fun and unique as that! From the water fountain to the rolling fairways, The Nottinghamshire provided endless backdrops for beautiful couple portraits.
Wedding Breakfast & Speeches
Back inside, guests gave Jess and Sam the warmest welcome into their wedding breakfast. The couple opted for a relaxed barbecue feast rather than a traditional sit-down meal – something I’ve seen work brilliantly at weddings, and this was no exception.
Speeches followed, and Sam’s heartfelt words had everyone in bits (myself included). He set the bar incredibly high, but the best men rose to the challenge and delivered brilliantly.
Sunset, Cheesecake & Cocktails
We couldn’t have timed it better for golden hour – the rain cleared and the clouds parted just in time to capture some magical sunset shots. It felt like it was meant to be.
Jess and Sam then surprised their guests with cheesecake instead of a traditional wedding cake – with some made by Jess herself. Such a thoughtful and personal touch. To top it off, they served four of their favourite cocktails for everyone to enjoy – a brilliant way to add even more personality to the evening.
Party Time
And then came the dancing. Their band, The Singles Table, were sensational. The dance floor was absolutely packed from the first song to the last – genuinely one of the busiest, most energetic dance floors I’ve seen.
From start to finish, Jess and Sam’s wedding was packed with joy, personality, and unforgettable moments. The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club was the perfect backdrop for their celebration, and I feel so lucky to have captured it all for them.
