What. A. Wedding. Ali & Arron’s celebration was one for the books – a day packed with style, personality, and the most incredible Peak District backdrops. From Porsches and campervans to denim jackets, hiking boots, hog roast, pizza, and an Irish band to keep the party alive… this was a wedding I won’t forget any time soon.
Ceremony at St John the Baptist Church, Dronfield
The day began at St John the Baptist Church in Dronfield, a stunning building with recently renovated stained glass windows that flooded the space with colour and light. Arron arrived in style, pulling up in his friend’s Porsche, while Ali made her entrance in a cool, classic campervan. After the ceremony, the newlyweds jumped back into the camper to make their way over to the reception – but not before a few smiles and waves for the guests gathered outside.
On the way to their reception, we made a detour to Peters Stone, one of the most dramatic spots in the Peak District. Against that epic backdrop, Ali and Arron looked right at home. The Peaks really don’t need much dressing up, and the combination of landscape and love made for some unforgettable photos.
Reception at Peak District Holiday Barn
Their reception was held at the Peak District Holiday Barn, a brilliant rustic setting surrounded by countryside views. The barn had a relaxed, DIY vibe, with plenty of personal touches that reflected Ali and Arron’s style. Guests enjoyed a buffet spread that included hog roast and pizza – comfort food at its very best – while garden games kept everyone entertained outside. The speeches brought plenty of happy tears and laughter, with heartfelt words that perfectly captured the spirit of the day.
Sunset & Storms
Later in the evening, we were treated to one of those magical Peak District sunsets. Just as the sun dipped beneath the clouds, the sky lit up in golden tones, and we headed outside the barn for some portraits. But Peak District weather has a way of keeping you on your toes – within seconds, the heavens opened and we went from stunning golden light to torrential rain. It led to one of my favourite shots of the day: Ali and Arron running back towards the barn, laughing as the rain came down. Those unscripted moments are always some of the best.
With everyone back inside and dried off, the party really began. An Irish band kept the dancefloor alive all night, with energy levels staying high from the first song through to the last. Ali & Arron’s wedding was the perfect mix of heartfelt moments, epic landscapes, and a proper party atmosphere. From Dronfield to the Peaks, it was a day that felt completely theirs – and an absolute dream to photograph.
